Sidney Alfred Parsons and his Ancestors
In the name of God Amen I Moses Parsons of the Parish of Horsington in the County of Somerset yeoman do declare this to be my last will and testament
in manner and form following viz First I give and bequeath unto my wife Betty Parsons all that my dwelling house with the garden orchard and premises
thereunto belonging which I lately purchased of George Hockey Also I give and bequeath unto my wife Betty Parsons my field called ? Close which field
I lately purchased of James Hunt containing by estimation six acres be the same more or less I also give unto my wife aforesaid my field called Common
Close which field I lately purchased of Thomas Harvey and containing by estimation four acres and a half more or less All of which lands and premises
are lying and situate in the Parish of Horsington aforesaid Also I give unto my wife all my goods and chattels money and effects that I may have by me
or that may be owing to me at the time of my decease enjoining her to pay my just debts and funeral expenses Further my will is that my wife should have
and enjoy all my estates goods and chattels of whatsoever kind as before mentioned for the term of her natural life (or widowhood) in order for her
maintenance and the support and maintenance of such of her children (which it shall please God) she might have living and not capable of supporting
themselves at the time of my decease and after the decease or second marriage of my wife aforesaid I give all my estates goods and chattels as before
mentioned unto my son William Parsons and my cousin James Parsons (son of my brother James Parsons) nevertheless in trust that they may dispose of the
same in the best manner they can in order to support those of my children as may not be able to maintain themselves by reason of their tender age or
infirmities untill my younger child shall arrive at the age of eighteen years Further it is my will that after the decease of my wife or her second
marriage and if my young child shall have attained the age of eighteen years then that my lands tenements hereditaments and goods and chattels of what
kind soever be sold by my executors in trust William Parsons and James Parsons before named and the monies arising from the sale of the said lands tenements
hereditaments goods and chattels it is my will should be disposed of in the following manner viz One hundred pounds I give unto my daughter Ann Parsons
Twenty pounds I give unto my son Moses Parsons Twenty pounds I give unto my son Meshach Parsons Also Twenty pounds I give unto my daughter Lidia Longman
wife of Wm Longman and after the above legacies are paid then it is my will that all the monies remaining be equally divided amongst the rest of my
surviving children (whose names are not written in this my will) without distinction fraud or deceit In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
seal this 15th day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Four.

Moses Parsons died on the 22nd of July 1805 and his will was proved on the 15th of November in the same year.
